The Symposium is not on the Purdue University campus in West Lafayette, IN. It is at the Holiday Inn Select City Centre, across the river in Lafayette, IN.

If you are flying in for the conference, there are three airports you can fly use. Unfortunately, the Purdue University airport has only charter service, not commercial carriers. The three nearest commercial airports are Indianapolis (IND), Chicago-Midway (MDW), and Chicago-O'Hare (ORD). Indianapolis is the closest, and a shuttle bus (http://www.lafayettelimo.com/) is available that will take you to Lafayette. Furthermore, Chicago is in the middle of a massive freeway reconstruction project (see http://www.danryanexpressway.com/), which may add considerably to your travel times. Please plan accordingly.

Directions to Lafayette Limo (Indianapolis Airport Ground Transport Center)

The Ground Transport Center is on the lower level directly across from Baggage Claim 2 (outside the terminal and across the drive). Maps of the airport are available at http://www.indianapolisairport.com/Maps/index.aspx.

Driving directions from the Indianapolis airport to the Holiday Inn Select City Centre

This way takes you through the heart of the city. Approximate travel time is 1 hour and 30 minutes

1. Follow airport signs to I-465 North.
2. Follow signs to I-65 North (approx. 10 miles).
3. Follow I-65 North to Lafayette Exit #172 (approx. 50 miles).
4. Turn left onto State Road 26 and travel approximately 5 miles to 5th Street. (State Road 26 in the heart of Lafayette is named Columbia and is one way going west)
5. Turn left on 5th Street and travel a little over 1 block, just past South Street (State Road 26 going east).
6. The entrance to the hotel parking lot is on your left.

Alternate driving directions from the Indianapolis airport to the Holiday Inn Select City Centre

This way misses most of the traffic of the city. Approximate travel time is 1 hour and 15 minutes.

1. Follow airport signs to I-465 North.
2. Follow signs to I-65 North (approx. 10 miles).
3. Take I-65 to Lafayette Exit 168.
4. At the stoplight turn right onto State Road 38.
5. Follow State Road 38 to County Road E 350 S., at the fourth stoplight after you turn onto State Road 38 (The Subaru plant is on your right; it is the third stoplight at the Subaru plant).
6. Turn left onto County Road E 350 S (which is County Road S 475 E on the right) and follow it to State Road 231.
7. Turn right onto State Road 231 and follow it (it becomes South River Road) to State Street (State Road 26) in West Lafayette (McDonald's across the street, apartment complex/shops on left and on right.
8. Turn right onto State Street. Follow State Street over the bridge (in Lafayette it becomes South Street) to 5th Street. The hotel is on South Street between 5th Street and 6th Street.

Directions from Chicago (O'Hare) to the Holiday Inn Select City Centre

Approximate travel time 3 hours and 15 minutes

1. Follow I-190 West for 0.2 mi (towards airport exit).
2. Continue on Chicago O'Hare International Airport for 0.9 mi.
3. Follow I-190 East for 2.8 mi. Merge onto I-90 East.
4. Follow I-90 East for 5.8 mi. Merge onto I-94 East.
5. Follow I-90 East/I-94 East for 15.3 mi.
6. Continue on I-90 East for 24.0 mi.
7. Take Exit #17 to I-65 South.
8. Follow I-65 South to Lafayette Exit #193.
9. Turn right onto US 231 (Bear right when it becomes Northwestern.) and follow it for approximately 22.5 mi. to Wiggins Street.
10. Turn left onto Wiggins and follow it 1.3 mi over the bridge to the 3rd Street exit. (Wiggins becomes Union Street in Lafayette.)
11. Take the 3rd Street Exit and follow 3rd Street 0.5 mi to South Street.
12. Turn left on South Street and follow it 2 blocks to the entrance of the hotel (on the right).

Directions from Chicago (Midway) to the Holiday Inn Select City Centre

Approximate travel time 2 hours and 45 minutes

1. Follow West Airport Drive for 0.7 mi (towards airport exit)
2. Follow West Airport Drive which becomes Helen Mikols Drive/West Airport Drive for 0.1 mi.
3. Turn left on South Cicero Ave and follow for 9.0 mi.
4. Turn left on 127th Street/West 127th Street. Follow it for 0.1 mi.
5. Bear right and take I-294 South. Follow it 7.2 mi. Merge onto I-80 East.
6. Follow I-80 East/I-294 South for 4.7 mi.
7. Follow I-80 East for 0.8 mi. Merge onto I-94 East .
8. Follow I-80 East /I-94 East for 4.5 mi. Then you have 2 options. You can follow I-94 to I-65 South (which may be a little further) or you can go through town as the directions below describe.
   1. Take Exit #2A to Indianapolis Boulevard.
   2. Follow Indianapolis Boulevard which becomes Indianapolis Boulevard/Southeastern Avenue for 0.9 mi.
   3. Continue on Indianapolis Boulevard for 4.2 mi.
   4. Continue on US-41 for 5.1 mi.
   5. Turn left on 109th Avenue/West 109th Avenue and go 4.7 mi.
   6. Continue on West Joliet Street for 0.7 mi.
   7. Turn right on South Court Street and go < 0.1 mi.
   8. Turn left on West Joliet Street/ East Joliet Street and go 1 mi.
   9. Continue on West State Road 231 for 1.7 mi.
   10. Bear right to take I-65 South and go 53.7 mi.
