Industrial and Physical Pharmacy NewsDecember 11, 2007: Multidrug- resistant tuberculosis has a new challenger, a center in the Purdue Research Park that on Tuesday (Dec. 11) became the sole North American producer of a potent antibiotic. The drug, Seromycin®, had been developed earlier by Eli Lilly and Co., which, in turn, gave the park's Chao Center for Industrial Pharmacy & Contract Manufacturing the exclusive rights to manufacture, distribute and sell the drug. read more November 19, 2007: Kenneth R. Morris, associate head of the Department of Industrial and Physical Pharmacy and director of graduate programs, has been elected a fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. February 7, 2007: Janet Woodcock, the chief medical officer of the Food and Drug Administration, will speak at Purdue on Thursday (Feb. 8) and Friday (Feb. 9) as the visiting lecturer for the annual Varro E. Tyler Distinguished Lectureship. Woodcock, who held the position of deputy commissioner and chief operating officer before assuming her current position, will present two lectures during her visit.
