IPPH Graduate Program - Ph.D. AdmissionsProspective students must have completed the requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or in an area that will provide suitable background for advanced studies in this department. Students with bachelor's or master's degrees in biological sciences, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, and other sciences have excellent backgrounds for given areas of study in the pharmaceutical sciences; application for admission to this department is welcomed. An application should be submitted early in the last year of undergraduate study and should include Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores. Applicants from foreign countries whose native language is not English also must furnish the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and the Test of Spoken English (TSE) exams. A minimum grade-point index of 3.0 (4.0 scale) is required. Undergraduate research experience is excellent preparation for graduate work. When considering an applicant, the Graduate Admissions Committee reviews all information contained in the application. The applicant's previous academic record, test scores, work experience, and other evidence of the creativity and motivation required to succeed in a highly competitive Ph.D. program are taken into account. Students applying for graduate positions in Industrial and Physical Pharmacy must meet all of the criteria for graduate students in the School of Pharmacy. Applications and supporting documentation for admission for the Fall Semester of any year must be received by January 1 of the same year admission is being requested. Admissions to the Ph.D. graduate program in Industrial and Physical Pharmacy for Fall 2008 are closed as of January 1, 2008. The department will begin accepting Ph.D. program applications for Fall 2009 on September 1, 2008. The deadline for Fall 2009 Ph.D. program applications is January 1, 2009.
